Radio 2 Piano Room – Paolo Nutini
Paolo Nutini - back with his first LP in 8 years - performs live from Maida Vale accompanied by The ´óÏó´«Ã½ Concert Orchestra. Plus Mutya Buena of Sugababes picks Tracks Of My Years.
Paolo Nutini - back with his first album in 8 years - is Ken's special guest as the Radio 2 Piano Room returns for another very special event. He'll perform three tracks from the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s Maida Vale studios, accompanied by The ´óÏó´«Ã½ Concert Orchestra, and answer questions from Radio 2 listeners.
Following the success of Radio 2's Piano Room Month in February, and one-off performances in March and April from Craig David and Michael Buble, Paolo joins the notable list to perform in The Piano Room.
Paolo burst onto the music scene in 2006 with his debut, These Streets, hitting number three in the U.K. and launching the hit New Shoes. He topped the U.K. album charts with 2009's Sunny Side Up, in the same year this multiple Brit Nominee took home a prestigious Ivor Novello Award. With his 2014 Album Caustic Love, he again returned to the top spot in the charts.
He’s now back with his new album - Last Night in the Bittersweet - which has received rave reviews from music critics and given Paolo another hit record.
Recently Paolo was the special guest billing at Liam Gallagher's Knebworth Park show, he’s back this summer at various festivals in the UK, headlining TRNSMT and Victorious Festivals and on tour in Europe in the coming months.
Mutya Buena - co-founder of the platinum-selling girl group Sugababes - picks her next two Tracks of My Years, with her penultimate choices coming from The Fugees and Usher. Plus Ken's got another round of the legendary PopMaster music quiz. There's also your dedications with today's love song and the record and album of the week.
