Grace Jones Nightclubbing special

Mary Anne revisits Grace Jones's 1981 album Nightclubbing with contributions from Honey Dijon, Iggy Pop, Sly And Robbie, John Grant, Desire Marea, Nia Archives and Grace herself.

Recorded in 1981 at Compass Point Studios in the Bahamas, Nightclubbing is the ultimate snapshot of the greatness of Grace Jones. Echoes of Jones鈥檚 work can still be found in musicians as varied as Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, FKA twigs, Grimes, Roisin Murphy and Honey Dijon. As well as speaking to some of the musicians who worked with Grace on the album, we hear from her then-partner and frequent collaborator Jean-Paul Goude and explore the impact the album made in the world of fashion, as well as speaking to some of the current crop of new artists influenced by this seminal record, including one of the most talked-about newcomers breaking onto the jungle scene right now, Nia Archives.
