Gabriel Byrne, Scott Bryan on the Edinburgh International TV Festival, The Burrell Collection

Scott Bryan gives Nicola his take on the events at the Edinburgh International Television Festival and we hear about The Burrell Collection's first exhibition since their reopening

Actor, writer and director Gabriel Byrne tells Nicola about performing his show Walking with Ghosts at the Edinburgh International Festival, a show inspired by his memoir of the same name. He talks about his Scottish family connections and inspirations growing up, and his time performing at the Edinburgh Fringe as a young actor, the importance of treasuring our theatres, how he felt when he discovered acting relatively late after trying several professions, and more.

Project curator LAURA BAULD and Senior Burrell Trustee PROFESSOR FRANCES FOWLE tell Nicola about the first exhibition launched by the Burrell Collection since the reopening earlier this year following a five year refurbishment, and we recall Nicola鈥檚 live broadcast from that reopening.

TV critic Scott Bryan gives us all the behind the scenes goss from the Edinburgh International Television Festival, including his efforts to befriend the celebrity panellists including Dame Judi Dench.

And following The Afternoon Show we have the first of our new For The Record feature, Nicola鈥檚 new series of conversations with guests from the world of books, music and the arts, who share the sound-track to their lives. This week she is joined by Clare Grogan, for a very special and emotional conversation in front of a live audience in the 大象传媒鈥檚 Edinburgh Festivals Spiegletent, to hear about the songs which remind her of her career including signing to a record label with Altered Images, being spotted by Bill Forsyth and launched to fame in Gregory鈥檚 Girl, and those songs that remind her of her home.
