Scotland's First Roma Festival & Fara on Energy Islands

Established in 2016 to encourage greater understanding and participation in the cultural heritage of the Roma people in Scotland, Ando Glaso is hosting its first ever free Roma Cultural Festival to showcase this colourful heritage. On the 27th and 28th August, the CCA in Glasgow will offer visitors the chance to immerse themselves in a programme of live concerts, talks, exhibitions and workshops from Scotland-based Roma artists. Creative Director of Ando Glaso, Janos Lang, joins Anna to tell her more about what's in store this weekend.
Plus, Scottish powerhouse quartet Fara are set to unveil a third studio album on Friday 26th August, fuelled by their native Orkney鈥檚 revolutionary role in renewable energy. Incredibly, a technical revolution - and an abundance of wind and water in an archipelago of islands closer to the Arctic Circle than London - means the people of Orkney now produce more energy than the National Grid can take. Catriona Price and Kristan Harvey join Anna live to share Fara's brand new album, Energy Islands, on the eve of its release.
