Tarantino's musical sources

Quentin Tarantino's films have a distinctive musical sound but only very rarely has he commissioned new scores for his films, Matthew traces back his original source tunes.

Quentin Tarantino's films have a distinctive musical sound. When writing, he scours his own extensive record collection, playing music until he finds "the personality" of his film. Only once has he commissioned a new score for his films - Tarantino persuaded his favourite composer of all time, Ennio Morricone, to compose a score for The Hateful Eight.
Matthew delves into Tarantino's playlists to find the origins of his greatest soundtracks and how he breathes new life, and context, into lesser-known or forgotten tunes.
