Big debuts

To mark National Album Day, Verity Sharp digs out some of our favourite debut albums from the likes of Laurie Anderson and DJ Shadow, as well as some exciting brand new ones.

To celebrate National Album Day, Verity Sharp digs out some of our favourite debut albums that made a mark on the music industry from the very beginning. There鈥檒l be slices from classics like Laurie Anderson鈥檚 groundbreaking avant-garde Big Science from 1982, and DJ Shadow鈥檚 1996 debut Endtroducing鈥� which pioneered plunderphonics alongside experimental hip hop instrumentals. Plus some forthcoming debuts that we鈥檝e got our eye on from the likes of jazz collective Nok Cultural Ensemble, Danish string duo Lueenas and anonymous grindcore duo Blightcaster.
