Beth Nielsen Chapman and Diwali

Rev Kate Bottley is joined by Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Beth Nielsen Chapman, who is in the middle of a twenty-date UK tour and has just released her fifteenth album.

Reverend Kate Bottley presents uplifting stories about life, love and modern spirituality, alongside a great soundtrack for your Sunday morning.

Her guest is Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Beth Nielsen Chapman, who recently released her fifteenth album 'Crazy Town'.

Texas-born Beth started playing piano and guitar at the age of 11, and has had several popular songs on the Adult Contemporary charts in the 1990s such as 'I Keep Coming Back To You', 'Walk My Way' and 'All I Have'. In 2016 she was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

She tells Kate about her extraordinary career, which includes releasing fifteen solo albums and writing seven number one hits, with songs recorded by the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Willie Nelson, Bette Midler, Elton John and Neil Diamond plus many more. Beth also shares fond memories of writing, recording and touring and tells Kate why she still loves being out on the road, playing her songs to live audiences all over the world.

Diwali, the five day festival of lights begins from 22 October this year and will be celebrated by over a billion Hindus, Sikhs and Jains across the globe. Hindu monk and regular guest on 大象传媒 Radio 4鈥檚 Prayer of the Day Brahmachari Shripriya Chaitanya, joins Kate to discuss the significance and symbolism of Diwali and what it means to her. 大象传媒 Asian Network Presenter Bobby Friction also selects some Diwali themed tracks especially for us!
