With a record number of people crossing the English Channel at the hands of smugglers, Mana's tale has an added sense of urgency. She has been recording on and off since making that journey and shares the ups and downs she's had to deal with as she settles into her new life.

Since reaching the UK she's made new friends and has set herself some ambitious goals in life, including making it into a mainstream film as an actress. As the family's only English speaker, she was left to negotiate with some of the most ruthless smugglers imaginable. At every turn she's had to confront problems and find creative solutions to keep her family going.
