Steve Lamacq chats with Alex Turner and Matt Helders about the new Arctic Monkeys album The Car, which is released on Friday. The duo talk through the production process of the album, from recording in Suffolk to the record evolving after the recording of the first single - There鈥檇 Better Be a Mirrorball - which, as Alex explains, set the tone for the rest of the album and led to the band spending a few years searching for songs to compliment that track.

The album is the band's seventh studio album and, as Steve describes in the interview, is a lush and stylish album, rich in the use of strings and with 'playful lyrics'. The Car is released on Friday via Domino Records.
