Bryony Gordon
Reverend Kate Bottley and Jason Mohammad talk to the bestselling author, journalist and mental health campaigner Bryony Gordon about her own teenage struggle with alopecia.
Reverend Kate Bottley and Jason Mohammad present uplifting stories about life, love and modern spirituality, alongside a great soundtrack for your Sunday morning.
Their guest this morning is the best-selling writer and mental health campaigner Bryony Gordon. Bryony's new book ‘Let Down Your Hair’ is an empowering young adult reimagining of Rapunzel which draws on her own teenage struggle with alopecia. Bryony tells Kate and Jason about how she wanted the book to confront an issue that faces all of us, self-confidence, and shares her own experiences as a teenager, that Bryony says continue to shape her to this day.
Poet and journalist John-Paul Flintoff also joins Kate and Jason to discuss his new poetry collection 'Psalms for the City' which reimagines the Book of Psalms for our social media-soaked culture. He tells Kate and Jason about how writing his own psalms helped him recover from a mental breakdown.
Plus, Pause for Thought.
