In a concert broadcast live from City Halls in Glasgow, the 大象传媒 Scottish Symphony Orchestra and their Associate Conductor Alpesh Chauhan bring musical story-telling to the fore. Rimsky-Korsakov's colourfully descriptive renderings of folk tales from One Thousand and One Nights feature some of the best known tunes in classical music. In the first half Pablo Ferr谩ndez is cello soloist in Ernest Bloch's serious meditation on his Jewish heritage. And the orchestra begins with three dance-peppered sketches drawn from Thomas Ad猫s's skewering opera, Powder Her Face.
