Episode 8
The Bikers continue their adventure in Northumberland, on the hunt for new, local food producers to impress a Michelin Star chef.
The Bikers are in beautiful Northumberland, heading towards Wall, a small village just north of Hexham. It’s an area with a bloody past of marauding Vikings and historic battles. But it’s the future of a new business in this gorgeous rural location that’s got the Bikers’ attention.
Dave and Si are visiting Hjem, a restaurant located within the Hadrian Hotel and run by Scandinavian-born chef Alex and his partner Ally, who’s front of house. Their incredible 18-course tasting menu has gained them quite a reputation, along with a coveted Michelin star.
It’s the Bikers’ job to help Alex and Ally connect with new, local producers, ones that can inspire award-winning cuisine, but after enjoying incredible dishes from the Hjem’s tasting menu, Dave and Si know they have their work cut out for them.
