Snow causes chaos
At least 19 road accidents were reported in the north west after heavy snowfall.
Heavy snowfall has led to major traffic disruption in the north west last night and again this morning. Nineteen road accidents have been reported and many schools were closed. The Met Office issued a warning for snow and ice from midday yesterday and it remains in place until midday today. Temperatures plunged as low as -7C in some countryside areas.
