Born in London to Iranian parents, Omid studied English and Theatre Studies before first achieving success in stand-up at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 1995.

Omid went on to be nominated for the Perrier Award for Best Comedian, helping him to become a familiar face on television. He鈥檚 guest presented Have I Got News for You and hosted his own programme The Omid Djalili Show, which aired on 大象传媒 One in 2007.
