Radio 2 Piano Room - Richard Marx

Richard Marx - the award-winning American singer-songwriter - kicks off Radio 2 Piano Room Month for 2023. Plus, soul singer Madeline Bell picks the Tracks of My Years all this week.

Richard Marx - the Grammy-nominated American singer-songwriter - kicks off Radio 2's Piano Room Month for 2023.

Radio 2 Piano Room Month sees an abundance of world famous award-winning artists gather to perform exclusively with the 大象传媒 Concert Orchestra, and each artist will be performing three tracks - a new song, one of their well-known tracks, and a classic cover version from another artist - with members of the 大象传媒 Concert Orchestra accompanying.

Perhaps best known for his songs Hazard, Right Here Waiting and Endless Summer Nights, Richard Marx has sold 30 million albums in a career that stretches over four decades. He's also achieved 14 number one singles, both as a performer and as a songwriter/producer.

In September 2022, Richard released his latest album Songwriter, with the first two singles Same Heartbreak Different Day and Believe In Me both being playlisted at Radio 2.

Plus, iconic soul singer Madeline Bell chooses the Tracks Of My Years all this week. A member of the 60s and 70s pop group Blue Mink, Madeline鈥檚 almost as well known for her time as one of music鈥檚 most in-demand backing singers - Serge Gainsbourg, The Rolling Stones, Donovan and Dusty Springfield have all utilised Madeline鈥檚 talents.

Madeline joins Ken ahead of her special 80th birthday concert at London鈥檚 Cadogan Hall on Saturday 18 February, which sees Matthew Jones conducting the English Chamber Orchestra, alongside Madeline, and her friend Kiki Dee in a celebration of her achievements.

Madeline鈥檚 first two choices are from Sam Cooke and Aretha Franklin.

Plus, Ken's got another round of PopMaster and there's a brand new Record and Album of the Week.
