In his first interview since the 2022 World Cup, Gareth Southgate reveals how close he came to quitting as England manager.

Speaking to 大象传媒 sports editor Dan Roan, Southgate says he wrestled with his future in the build-up to Qatar because of 鈥渃oncern鈥� that criticism was 鈥渄ivisive and inhibits performance鈥�.

He says he has no regrets about his tactics in the quarter-final defeat to France and explains why he鈥檚 decided to stay on for another crack at silverware in Euro 2024.
