Cecily's Fund

Cecily's Fund makes access to education possible for vulnerable children, helping to reduce poverty and inequality in poor communities in Zambia.  Thanks to the work of Cecily’s Fund over the last 25 years more than 20,000 orphans and vulnerable children have more hope and a secure future, and are contributing in their own way to Zambia’s development.

Noria’s Story

Noria’s Story
Noria is now a teacher because of Cecily’s Fund. From the age of 7 she looked after her younger brothers when her mum sold vegetables in the market and had no chance of school.  Noria’s teacher became her mentor as she grew up, and encouraged her to persevere.

Helping Women to be Financially Independent

Helping Women to be Financially Independent
Vulnerable women like Noria’s mum are helped to become financially independent by learning how to save and start small businesses. This gives their children better health and educational outcomes and reduces exploitation by money lenders.

Developing Youth Mentors

Developing Youth Mentors
Zambia is a nation of young people. Many are orphaned because of HIV/AIDS and extended families struggle to provide support. Cecily’s Fund trains older teenagers to be role models and mentors to younger children.
