This two-part programme dives into a global scene to uncover the unique identity and music of a place. Jamz Supernova will speak to artists and creatives around the world to find out what a particular scene looks, sounds, and feels like on the ground.

In the first episode, Jamz explores the sounds and influences of the exciting and ever-growing Underground music scenes in the SWANA (South West Asia and North African region), from the traditional sounds of Egypt, to the recontextualizing of traditional instruments from Lebanon and Jordan, to young artists in London and Australia connecting to their roots, and more.

Jamz chats with London-based DJ and filmmaker Nooriyah and Cairo-based DJ and Producer 3Phaz. And there are words from a host of artists, including the likes of Moktar, Azu Tiwaline, ZULI, and Rama from the Irsh label, Deena Abdelwahed, The Maghreban, and more.
