Released in 2014, 1989 was Taylor Swift鈥檚 first official pop album. Inspired by 80s synth pop, it marked her response to criticism that she had departed from her Country roots during her previous album Red. 1989 won Best Pop Vocal Album at the 58th Grammy Awards, as well as Album of the Year, making Taylor the first female artist ever to win Album of the Year twice.
