Fresh Maggots go Supersonic
Stuart talks to Lisa Meyer about Birmingham's Supersonic Festival while his featured album is psychedelic folk classic Fresh Maggots by Fresh Maggots.
Stuart talks to Lisa Meyer about Birmingham's experimental music Supersonic Festival which is being held in September.
Plus classic post punk, prog bossa, a burst of kosmische music from Todmorden and all 22 minutes of the new Animal Collective single.
And if that wasn't enough, Stuart's featured album is psychedelic folk classic Fresh Maggots by Fresh Maggots (also known as Fresh Maggots...Hatched).
Originally released by the 19 year old Nuneaton folk duo of Mick Burgoyne and Leigh Dolphin in 1971 to great reviews but terrible sales, it's since been rediscovered as a lost classic, and tonight you'll find out why.
