'I fled Scotland, seeking musical asylum in Canada!'
Alan says he fled Scotland in 1963, seeking musical asylum from The Beatles.
"Hi, Sean!" Alan Watt emails from Canada, "will you please tell Rose in Wexford that I agree with her about the Beatles."
"Rose," Sean says, "doesn't like The Beatles. Neither, obviously, does Alan."
"Back in 1963," Alan says, "my wife, Mary, and I, fled from Scotland, seeking musical asylum in Canada! Then, six months later, The Beatles found us! And the rest is history. My favourites are still Buddy Holly, The Everly Brothers, and Patsy Cline. None of your copycat English groups! There! I feel better now!"
"Alan," Sean says, "I want you to take a deep breath! Walk away from the radio! Settle down!"
With music from Chuck Berry, Dwight Yoakam and Sheryl Crow, Dion, and more.
