Scottish alternative rock band Teenage Fanclub are back with another iconic 6 Music session, playing tracks from their eleventh full studio album 鈥楴othing Lasts Forever鈥�!

The band, who鈥檝e been a force for good for over three decades, formed in Bellshill near Glasgow in 1989 and were later signed to the renowned Creation Records.

Original founders and songwriters Norman Blake and Raymond McGinley recorded the new album along with Francis Macdonald on drums, Dave McGowan on bass and Euros Childs on keyboards.

The music for 鈥楴othing Lasts Forever鈥� was recorded in an intense ten-day period at the famous Rockfield Studios in the Welsh countryside, with vocals and final touches being recorded at guitarist Raymond McGinley's place in Glasgow.

One of the recurring themes in the new album is light, as a both a metaphor for hope and as an ultimate destination further down the road. Although the band鈥檚 songwriters Norman Blake and Raymond McGinley found themselves touching on similar themes, it was pure coincidence. About the record, Raymond says: 鈥淲e never talk about what we鈥檙e going to do before we start making a record. We don鈥檛 plan much other than the nuts and bolts of where we鈥檙e going to record and when. That thing about light was completely accidental; we didn鈥檛 realise that until we鈥檇 finished half the songs. The record feels reflective, and I think the more we do this thing, the more we become comfortable with going to that place of melancholy, feeling and expressing those feelings.鈥�

The band鈥檚 exclusive live session for Riley and Coe follows the release of the album on 22nd September 2023 and is set to be a corker!!
