Cartoon Capers, Dinosaur Poets & Festival Fun
John Toal speaks to graphic artists, a palaeontologist with award-winning poems and finds out about two big events in Belfast and Derry.
John revisits a decade of newspaper comic strips with graphic artist Neal McCullough who has been reflecting life through his drawings in the County Down Spectator for ten years. Gavin Bradley is a palaeontologist from Northern Ireland based in Canada, but he’s also just won an award for his first book of poems – he and John discuss how the worlds of literature and dinosaurs intersect. Ruth McGinley plays live in studio ahead and Paula makes apple cheesecake slice. Contributors of both the One World Festival in Derry and Open Botanic in Belfast give us a preview of what’s happening at each event.
