A decade of national renewal' - that was Sir Keir Starmer's promise to voters, delivered at the Labour Party Conference. The Labour leader said people were in "survival mode" because of the rising cost of living and he confirmed that if elected, his party would establish a publicly owned clean energy company, headquartered in Scotland. Sir Keir predicted Scotland can lead the way to a Labour government in Westminster, but added he was under no illusion that every vote must be earned.
The event was disrupted right at the very start - a protestor ran onto the stage and doused the Labour Leader in glitter.
