The 大象传媒 Philharmonic explore and celebrate musical soundscape, energy and atmosphere in music by Debussy, Anna Thorvaldsdottir and Haydn.

In a programme book-ended by the power of the sea, this concert explores and celebrates the ability of an orchestra to create soundscape, energy and atmosphere.
Haydn鈥檚 breathtakingly prophetic dark and turbulent overture to his opera L鈥檌sola disabitata (The uninhabited island) is our starting point for a journey which culminates in the raw power and intricate colour of Debussy鈥檚 La Mer.

In Anna Thorvaldsdottir鈥檚 ARCHORA, premiered by the 大象传媒 Philharmonic and Eva Ollikainen at last year鈥檚 大象传媒 Proms, she creates 鈥渁 world both familiar and strange ... an omnipresent parallel realm鈥�. Using the full colour and expressive force of the orchestra we are drawn into an immersive experience in a score which she subtitles 鈥淲orlds within worlds鈥�.

Hailed by the Washington Post as "one of the finest pianists in the world", Richard Goode brings his insightful spark and finesse to Mozart鈥檚 Piano Concerto K 456.
