100 years of Disney, The Hebridean Baker and a retelling of Orwell's 1984
To mark Disney's 100th birthday, Janice and guests reflect on their classic films, and delve in to the studio's creative journey in that time. Plus a chat with The Hebridean Baker.
Janice will be joined by Kim Winston, the presenter and producer of Strictly Come Dancing: The Official Podcast to debrief after Saturday night’s Strictly.
The Hebridean Baker, Coinneach MacLeod, has millions of fans across the world. He found fame in 2020 when he started to bring his traditional Scottish recipes to the world. He has a new cookbook to share which promises to incorporate folklore with the flavours of the Hebrides.
Author Sandra Newman’s new book – Julia – is a retelling of George Orwell's cautionary tale 1984. The story is revisited through the eyes of one of the characters from the original work, Julia Worthing.
The Afternoon Show Single of the Week comes from Glasgow folk group The Niche Family. Janice hears more about the band from the band’s frontman, Stuart Neil.
To mark Disney’s 100th birthday today, film critics Siobhan Synnot and Eddie Harrison will be sharing their favourites, and reflecting on the creative journey of Disney in that period. Plus a chat with Uddingston-born composer Patrick Doyle who wrote the score for the Scottish Disney film, 2012’s Brave.
