Chamber music performances by Trio Gaspard and the newly formed period string ensemble, Spunicunifait.
From Holy Trinity Church in Haddington, Trio Gaspard play Schumann鈥檚 Fantasiestucke Op.88. These lyrical sketches were written in Schumann's 鈥榗hamber music year鈥�, but he revised them for several years before publishing them. 鈥楽punicunifait鈥� is one of Mozart鈥檚 nonsense words and it鈥檚 also the name of a new ensemble formed specifically to explore Mozarts string quintets. The members are soloists and directors of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and they play one of Mozart鈥檚 late string quintets on period instruments and gut strings.
