PHONE-IN
Forty percent of secondary pupils are missing a day of school a fortnight -- according to research for a think tank. The Commission on School Reform – an independent group of education experts - says the findings also suggest a fifth are missing one day a week. It warns those young people are less likely to get good exam results or form good relationships. Ministers say Education Scotland is to undertake work to better understand the current challenges which influence attendance.
