30 minutes of classical inspiration
Take time out with a 30-minute soundscape of classical music, including music by Mozart plus Nico Muhly and John Wilbye.
Recycled Bach begins tonight's mix, with a cantata chorus he adapted from one of his earlier Brandenburg Concertos, with added trumpet and drums. There's lots of those in David Munrow's arrangement of dances by Tylman Susato, and this runs into Nico Muhly's serene piano-led arrangement of music by Orlando Gibbons. The lively finale of Mozart's 23rd Piano Concerto, Couperin's 'Mysterious Barricades', a madrigal by John Wilbye (in Elizabethan pronunciation) and a string quartet version of Cyndi Lauper's classic 'True Colors' complete the mix.
