Mike Vass: Plockton Music School and Amy Laurenson in Session
Mike Vass joins Anna live with news of Plockton Music School open days. And ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Scotland's Young Traditional Musician of the Year, pianist Amy Laurenson, is in session.
Mike Vass has been settling into his new position at the helm of Plockton Music School. He joins Anna live with new of the school's open days ahead of their auditions in March and shares a brand new track from his project with Mairearad Green - A Day A Month.
It has been one year since Shetland piano virtuoso, Amy Laurenson, won the title of ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year. With her debut album, Strands, due for release in February, Amy's career has gone from strength to strength since she took the title in 2023. Amy joins Anna in session, accompanied by Miguel Girão on guitar, Signy Jakobsdottir on percussion and Charlie Stewart on double bass.
