Radio 2 Piano Room: Shaznay Lewis
Singer-songwriter Shaznay Lewis, performs for Radio 2鈥檚 Piano Room today with the 大象传媒 Concert Orchestra. Plus another round of Ten to The Top.
All Saints band member Shaznay Lewis performs for Radio 2鈥檚 Piano Room month today, live from the Maida Vale studios and accompanied by the 大象传媒 Concert Orchestra.
From co-writing songs such as the number one "Bootie Call", "Pure Shores" and international hit single "Never Ever," with the successful female group All Saints, Shazney launched her solo career in 2004 with her debut solo album, Open. Shaznay says, 鈥淚'm so excited to have been asked to perform my first solo appearance on Radio 2鈥檚 Piano Room, and I'm incredibly honoured to share the stage with the 大象传媒 Concert Orchestra!鈥�
And poet John Cooper Clarke is Vernon鈥檚 guest this week on Tracks Of My Years. 鈥楾he Bard of Salford鈥� rose to prominence as a performance poet in the late 70s, performing alongside punk and post-punk acts like the Sex Pistols, Joy Division and Buzzcocks. He鈥檚 since released 7 albums, 2 poetry collections and performed his poetry in theatres and festivals the world over.
John鈥檚 latest poetry collection 鈥榃hat鈥� is released on 8th February and coincides with his 2024 national theatre tour celebrating 50 years of showbiz. The 鈥楪et Him While He鈥檚 Alive鈥� tour will see John performing all around the country, taking fans on a one-of-a-kind journey through poetry and comedy.
John's penultimate tracks are from Ricky Nelson & Dion and The Belmonts.
