Wales have unearthed a rare gem in new outside half Jonathan Davies, and an exciting team is beginning to be built around his mercurial talent. However, problems beset the side with their world-class captain Terry Holmes leaving to play rugby league and bad planning around the side undermining any improvement on the pitch.
The world of rugby is changing, but Wales are slow to adapt. They face a race against time to reach their full potential before the game-changing tournament that is the first Rugby World Cup in 1987.
