Leather Pig

Episode 3 of 30

Nigel Havers presides as five sellers aim for the best price for their items, including iconic London signage, a footstool, a musical decanter, a wind-up tin toy and a dental polisher.

Nigel Havers welcomes sellers of collectibles and curiosities to the Bidding Room's new home in Edinburgh, where they ply their wares to five dealers.

First through the doors is a familiar face, Jonny, who has returned with an iconic piece of London signage. His Knightsbridge Underground sign in the symbolic red, white and blue could find favour amongst the dealers – but can any of them raise the capital that Jonny wants to fund home renovations?

Next in is Jane from Essex with a leather pig-shaped footstool, affectionately named Madge, which was gifted to her in Canada. She has brought her little pig to market amongst the dealers, but will any of them pay the right money to take it all the way home?

Third to step into the Edinburgh HQ is Chi with an item of glassware with a unique selling point built in. The musical decanter set has been with him for a few years, but he’s ready to peddle it to the dealers in the hope of making some money to travel to visit family.

Next to face the dealers are Gordon and his partner John with a tin-plate clockwork toy. Will toy fanatic Adi, or any of the other dealers, be wound up by the collectable piece in mint condition?

The last hopeful seller ready to stash some cash goes by the suitable name of Moneypenny, with a contraption for the dealers to get their teeth into. The Victorian dental polisher was bought at auction, and now Moneypenny is hoping the dealers will put a smile on her face by offering her a pretty profit.

The dealers today are Ian, Jacqui, Adi, Jo and James.
