The Justice Minister has ruled out funding for CCTV in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area. The PSNI are unable to continue to provide 拢75,000 towards the costs of operating and maintaining the system due to financial challenges.
The Department of Justice say they have no specific funding for the provision of CCTV. Local MLA Gary Middleton tells North West Today he expects there to be a cross-departmental meeting about the issue as CCTV is 'life saving equipment'.
