Internationally renowned Mezzo-Soprano Karen Cargill joins the Scottish Chamber Orchestra to perform Berlioz鈥檚 The Death of Cleopatra, illustrating the final moments of the Egyptian queen. Karen shares why this piece is one of 'the most extraordinary pieces' she鈥檚 ever heard. Jamie MacDougall shares performances from the semi-finals of 大象传媒 Radio Scotland鈥檚 Young Classical Musician 2024, with accordionist Melia Simonot playing Rameau, violinist Emma Baird performing Applemania and pianist Alberto Alonso Sanchez with music by Granados. And ahead of the 大象传媒 SSO鈥檚 concert this week we hear the orchestra with Bruckner鈥檚 final mighty work, his deeply spiritual Ninth Symphony.
