Merthyr Tydfil
Former Mr Gay Wales Paul Davies calls on Andi to help make Merthyr Tydfil’s first Pride a roaring success. Can Andi bring more joy to this momentous event by creating a flamboyant feast?
Former Mr Gay Wales Paul Davies calls on Andi’s help to make Merthyr Tydfil’s first ever Pride a roaring success. While Prides have been popping up in the Welsh Valleys in recent years, this is set to be their biggest yet, but first there are two problems Andi needs to solve – food and transport.
Andi sets about creating a true Valleys Pride flamboyant feast that uses local produce and draws on tradition while also celebrating difference. Then, in a bid to bring as many revellers as possible to this historic event, she hires a bus and tries to fill it with as many locals as possible, while also delving into the historic bond between miners and the gay and lesbian community, which dates back to the 1980s.
With the Welsh weather threatening to make the whole event a washout, can Andi still bring the joy she’s promised Paul and make Merthyr’s inaugural Pride truly momentous?
