Huw is live from Brighton for The Great Escape Festival - the UK's biggest showcase of new music from emerging artists, with 500 acts from all over the world playing.

Huw is live from Brighton for The Great Escape Festival - the UK's biggest showcase of new music from emerging artists, with 500 acts from all over the world playing.

He'll have live performances from a stage in Jubilee Square from Wunderhorse and Fabiana Palladino.

Wunderhorse began as a solo project for frontman Jacob Slater before evolving into a full band which now includes Jamie Staples, Harry Fowler and Pete Woodin. The group released their debut album Cub in 2022, around the same time as Jacob starred in Danny Boyle's miniseries about the Sex Pistols, playing Paul Cook. The band have supported the likes of Fontaines DC, Pixies and Sam Fender and returned with a new single called Midas in April.

Fabiana Palladino released her self-titled debut album in April to critical acclaim. The Guardian described it as "sublime 80s pop innovation meets 21st-century chaos" in a five-star review. The record has been a long-time coming, as Fabiana began self-releasing music online thirteen years ago. Alongside a slow release of singles in that time she collaborated with the likes of The Maccabees, Jessie Ware and Sampha, as well as Jai Paul - who's label she eventually released the album through.

Plus Huw will be chatting to some of the most exciting bands playing this year's festival.

And we'll look ahead to the 6 Music Showcase on Thursday evening at The Paganini Ballroom, hosted in collaboration with 大象传媒 Introducing. On the bill are mary in the junkyard, Snayx, City Parking and MRCY.
