The Conservatives have set out a plan to require 18-year-olds take part in a form of national service if the party wins the general election on 4 July.
Home Secretary James Cleverly has said that national service would engage young people in society again when "too many live in their own bubble". Labour said the plan was "a desperate gimmick" with no viable funding.
