Jamie is joined this week by the Grammy-winning American singer Chaka Khan.
Chaka speaks about her early connection with jazz, love of Charles Stepney, friendship with Miles Davis, and the times she has recorded jazz herself.
She is headlining Love Supreme jazz festival this weekend, and Jamie also has music from acts on the bill such as Kessoncoda, Olivia Dean and Fergus McCreadie.
This week also marks the start of Radio 2 Loves Jazz season, which features The Power of Jazz - a series presented by Jeff Goldblum - that looks at how jazz has influenced a range of other musical worlds. In addition, there are special playlists on 大象传媒 Sounds curated by Emeli Sand茅 and De La Soul. To celebrate all these great programmes, Jamie also has a De La Soul classic and an archive Maida Vale track he recorded with Jeff Goldblum at the piano, back in 2018.
