Japan are seeking a record fourth successive gymnastics gold in the men’s individual all-around final, while the Brits have only ever won two medals in the event – Max Whitlock’s bronze in Rio came an eye-watering 108 years after Walter Tysall took silver in 1908.

The early afternoon will be dominated by the flips and tricks of the men’s BMX freestyle final, with Team GB’s reigning world champion Kieran Reilly likely to be in contention. Also taking place are judo, shooting and the thrilling women’s C1 canoe slalom final, with British world champion and Tokyo silver medallist Mallory Franklin seeking another podium finish.
