Sananda Maitreya chooses his Tracks Of My Years

Singer-songwriter Sananda Maitreya picks his favourite songs all this week on Tracks Of My Years. Plus there's more Ten To The Top and we play a new Album and Record Of The Week.

Singer-songwriter Sananda Maitreya shares his favourite song choices all this week on Tracks Of My Years.

Sananda launched his career in 1987 with his debut studio album ‘Introducing the Hardline According to Terence Trent D'Arby’ along with the hit singles ‘If You Let Me Stay’, ‘Sign Your Name’, ‘Dance Little Sister’ and ‘Wishing Well’. The album went on to win him a Grammy for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance and a BRIT Award for International Breakthrough Act.

Formally known as Terence Trent D'Arby, he changed names in 2001 to Sananda Maitreya and released his first album in 8 years, ‘Wildcard’. He’s since gone on to release nine more studio albums and four live albums.

Sananda performed at his first UK concert in over 20 years at the Love Supreme Jazz Festival in May this year and he’s just released his 13th studio album ‘The Pegasus Project: Pegasus & The Swan’. The full album features 41 tracks, completing the arc after four different recording sessions over the span of 18 months starting with his ‘Prometheus & Pandora’ album in 2017 and continued on to the 2021’album ‘Pandora’s PlayHouse’.
