A pulsating evening is guaranteed in Paris on day nine as the world鈥檚 fastest athletes line up for one of the most anticipated and greatest events in sport, the men鈥檚 100m final.

America鈥檚 global superstar Noah Lyles is the reigning world champion and the man to beat. British hopeful Zharnel Hughes will seek to exorcise the memory of his disqualification at Tokyo 2020, while Botswana鈥檚 world silver medallist Letsile Tebogo is another strong contender.

World-class sprinting will also take place in the pool, with the British men looking to claim a podium place for a second successive Games in the 4x100m medley final. Sweden鈥檚 Sarah Sjostrom is the favourite for gold in the women鈥檚 50m freestyle, and in the longest race of the night, the USA鈥檚 Bobby Finke will face a stiff challenge from Ireland鈥檚 Daniel Wiffen for the men鈥檚 1,500m freestyle title.
