Supreme Admiral Commander Aokiji, one of the three top officers of the Navy who defer only to the very head of the organization, is said to be the driving force behind the Navy鈥檚 fighting power. Luffy and his crew, especially Robin, are wary of why he is on the island, but he affably claims that he just stopped by during a stroll on the ocean. While they are talking, a group of men and women, shipwreck survivors who drifted to the island, come out from where they were hiding. Aokiji, who has the power of a Devil Fruit, sticks his hand into the ocean and makes it freeze, allowing the men and women to walk across to a nearby island. Once they are alone again, Aokiji suddenly changes his attitude and becomes hostile, accusing Robin of trying to con the Straw Hat Pirates. Sanji, Zolo, and Luffy attack him in defense of Robin, but to no avail. Then Aokiji chills his body and wraps himself around Robin, turning her into a statue of ice.
