Back on the Going Merry, Usopp finally wakes up. He feels ashamed and embarrassed about losing the money to the Franky Family and asks Luffy if they can still afford to have the Going Merry fixed. Luffy gives him the bad news about their ship and tells him that they will be getting a new one on the island. Usopp is infuriated and refuses to accept Luffy鈥檚 decision. After a heated argument and to their friends鈥� dismay, Usopp declares that he is quitting the team and leaves the ship. As he goes ashore, he challenges Luffy to a fight for the Going Merry. Nami tries to convince Luffy to patch things up with Usopp, but to no avail. That night, just as he said, Usopp returns to the cape to fight Luffy one on one.
