One day, Buggy the Clown's underlings barge into Nami's restaurant Kazaguruma looking for someone, but they are taken aback and disappointed only to find their archenemy Chief Straw Hat there. Later Luffy visits Rika, who is taking care of a sick Pandaman, who she amicably calls Tottsan ("father"). Luffy invites her to go play with him and the boys, and at the old temple, Rika finds a worn-out camel. They take him back to the Kazaguruma since there's no more room at Rika's house. Nami takes him in good-naturedly and doesn't even get angry when he eats the expensive dishes Sanji had prepared. This is because she has a lottery ticket whose number is in the camel category. As she had hoped, she wins 1 million ryo-berries, but the camel accidentally eats the winning lottery ticket. Meanwhile, Buggy and Mr. 3, the city magistrate, conspire to get Luffy fired. Buggy kidnaps Rika to lure out Luffy and to sell her off as a slave to cover Pandaman's debt, who he mistakes for her father. He later finds out that they are actually not related, hence making him a plain old kidnapper. Vivi also shows up in town to punish Mr. 3 for taking a bribe from and hooking up with a villain like Buggy. Later, Vivi reveals that the camel is her father's lost pet and that they had put out a reward of 1 million ryo-berries for its safe return. Rika decides to split the money with Nami and the others, and they spend a very merry Christmas Eve at the Kazaguruma.
