The Outrun, The Brenda Line, & Juliet and Single of The Week

Hollywood actor Saoirse Ronan and Orkney writer Amy Liptrot discuss The Outrun film.

Hollywood actor Saoirse Ronan and Orkney writer Amy Liptrot discuss the screen adaptation of Amy's memoir The Outrun. Plus we hear from the film's director Nora Fingscheidt.

Nicola finds out about new play The Brenda Line, which is currently at Pitlochry Festival Theatre and tells the lesser-known history of the Samaritans in the 70s and 80s, when a separate phone service existed to deal with obscene phone calls. Playwright Harry Mould reflects on the real-life experience of their mother, who volunteered at the Samaritans during that time.

TV medic Dr Ranj Singh and Sandra Marvin, who star in stage show & Juliet, discuss how the show flips the script on the greatest love story ever told when Juliet chooses life instead of succumbing to grief and embarks on a journey of self-discovery and independence.

Plus Nicola meets the band behind our single of the week.
