Holst's 'The Planets' at the Proms and highlights from the Verbier Festival

Linton Stephens revisits highlights from the Verbier Festival and showcases music by Lara Poe, Sibelius and Gustav Holst from the 大象传媒 Proms.

Linton Stephens presents a programme of specially recorded classical music, featuring two chamber recitals from the Verbier Festival: one by a trio of new-generation musicians, and another by pianist Nikolai Lugansky.

Elsewhere, Linton revisits Prom 46, recorded live at London's Royal Albert Hall. Sakari Oramo conducts student musicians from Helsinki and London, who join together for a programme celebrating music's conjuring power. Includes the world-premiere performance of a 大象传媒 commission by Lara Poe for soprano and orchestra, inspired by Nordic cow-calling traditions. The Royal College of Music Symphony Orchestra and the Sibelius Academy Symphony Orchestra also perform music by Sibelius, as well as Gustav Holst's epic work of imagination from an era before space travel: 'The Planets'.
