Treasures of Scotland
Silver lover Margie Cooper and 20th-century design expert Mark Hill head for the heart of Edinburgh in their 1980 MGB Roadster.
It’s the final leg for 20th-century design expert Mark Hill and silver supremo Margie Cooper in their best-of-five contest.
Having crossed the border into Scotland, today’s search for antiques and artefacts begins just outside Edinburgh, in Danderhall, a former mining village. As our history-loving heroes dig for treasures in their first shop – each with £200 in their pockets – Margie falls head over heels for one Victorian object, while Mark hopes a mid-20th-century skiing item can keep him on track.
Taking in more of Edinburgh and onto Inverkeithing, Margie is further entranced by a 1960s toy, while Mark hopes that a rare glass vase will deliver him an auction win.
Exploring St John’s House in Edinburgh, Margie and Mark are captivated by the origins of the order of St John, who started out as ‘knights of the first crusades’ in the 11th century.
Taking in advertising boxes, doorbells and much more along the way, who will win at the final auction?
