Cerys shares highlights from Tinariwen's Desert Blues Prom, and American Country Blues star Charlie Parr calls in ahead of his UK tour.

Hailing from Minnesota, Charlie Parr released his folk-blues album Little Sun back in March. The album channels the philosophical and transcendental qualities of the blues with a journey through the winding streets of his imagination.

At Prom 51: The Desert Blues, northern Malian collective Tinariwen performed at the Royal Albert Hall. Their Late Night Prom celebrated their pioneering and distinctive sound. Esteemed exponents of the so-called ‘desert blues’, the collective of Tuareg musicians from the Sahara region of their homeland combine traditional Tuareg and African music with elements of Western rock and jazz, earning themselves a worldwide reputation and a Praetorius Music Prize.
