An archive chat with David Essex

Johnnie revisits an archive interview with 70s singer and actor David Essex.

If you're a fan of 70s singer and actor David Essex, you may already know he's embarking on a big UK tour, which culminates in a special show at the London Palladium next month. His success in the 1970s was huge, with two UK No.1 singles, as well as starring roles in 'Godspell', 'Tommy', 'Evita' and 'War of the Worlds', plus hit movies such as 'That'll Be The Day'. He continued through the decades both on stage and screen and was awarded an OBE in 1999. As one of the standout characters of the 1970s, David has been a guest of Johnnie several times on the show over the years, and he'll feature this week in Johnnie's archive interview.

Elsewhere on the programme, another listener will hit the jackpot with their entry into Johnnie's Jukebox, and Johnnie will take a look at 'This Week In Music' with the help of the 大象传媒 Archives. There will be another BTO and more of your requests, dedications and mentions.
